A Bit About Neuropsychology
Neuropsychology is dedicated to understanding how our brains work and the relationship between mental abilities and behavior. Neuropsychologists use a variety of tests to determine how well the brain is working and can often help understand the cause of problems with your thinking. For example, test results might be used to determine if memory changes are due to normal aging, a neurological illness, medications, depression, or other causes. This can help with treatment planning for individuals with concerns about their memory or other aspects of cognition (thinking). While a brain scan is similar to looking under the hood of a car, a neuropsychological evaluation is like taking the car out for a drive, so to speak.

Dr. Rossetti provides comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations as well as individualized consultations for adults concerned about cognitive changes. Her overall goal is to help patients, families, and providers better understand how an individual's brain processes information, how this affects day-to-day functioning, and what can be done to improve or adapt to these changes. A primary area of focus is distinguishing normal aging from mild cognitive impairment and dementia (e.g., Alzheimer’s, Lewy body, vascular, behavioral and language variants, mixed etiologies, etc.) and she frequently sees individuals with a family history of dementia to establish a baseline for future comparison. Dr. Rossetti has extensive experience in concussion, Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, ADHD, stroke, brain tumor, autoimmune disorders such as multiple sclerosis, and is interested in women’s cognitive health. She is a FAA-approved neuropsychologist for those in need of an aeromedical evaluation.
